Football makes up roughly half of the Purdue Boilermakers jersey category; the rest is basketball. Within the football listings, three edition labels do most of the work: Gold Vapor Untouchable, College Football Black and Game Black. A fourth, custom-only Vapor Football Stitched line adds more colors. This guide explains what each label covers in the catalog and which names you will find under it.
How the editions are labelled
Every Purdue football title follows the same pattern: “Purdue Boilermakers”, the player and number, then the edition. There are no color or patch menus on these pages, only gender and size, so the edition word at the end of the title is the color you get.
- College Football Gold Vapor Untouchable: the gold edition.
- College Football Black: the standard black edition.
- College Football Game Black: a separate black edition labelled Game.
Gold Vapor Untouchable and College Football Black pairs
Most names come as a pair, one gold and one black listing. The paired names are:
- Cam Allen #10, Drew Brees #15, Jack Cravaack #83, Kawann Short #93
- King Doerue #22, Kyle Orton #18, Micah Carter #99, Michael Alaimo #1
- Mike Alstott #40, Mitchell Fineran #24, Preston Terrell #84, Ryan Kerrigan #94
- Yanni Karlaftis #14, Zander Horvath #40
- Marvin Grant, listed twice: as #27 and as #4, each with a gold and a black page
One pair does not match: Jaron Tibbs is #13 on his Gold Vapor Untouchable listing and #3 on his College Football Black listing. If you want the same number in both colors, check the photos first.
Game Black
Game Black is a separate edition from College Football Black, even though both are black. Some names appear only here: Tyler Coyle #25, Payne Durham #87, Jalen Graham #6 and Jack Plummer #13.
Others have all three editions, gold, black and Game Black: Jaylan Alexander #36, George Karlaftis #5, David Bell #3, Aidan O’Connell #16 and Rondale Moore #4. For these five you can compare the two black versions side by side. One of Aidan O’Connell’s titles is written “OConnell” without the apostrophe, so try both spellings in a search.
Custom editions
The custom listings are where Purdue gets more color choice. Custom Purdue Boilermakers Jersey Name and Number Vapor Football Stitched comes in five colorways: White, Gold, Gold Alternate, Black and Black Alternate (the Gold version is listed twice). The photo at the top of this page shows the black version with gold lettering.
There are also custom College Football Gold Vapor Untouchable and College Football Black listings, so you can match the player editions with your own name and number.
Numbers shared between names
Because the edition titles are so uniform, shared numbers are easy to miss:
- #40: Mike Alstott and Zander Horvath.
- #13: Jack Plummer (Game Black) and Jaron Tibbs (gold).
- #3: David Bell and Jaron Tibbs (black).
- #4: Rondale Moore and Marvin Grant.
- #15: Drew Brees in football and Zach Edey on the basketball listings.
Comparing the two black editions
For the five names with both a College Football Black and a Game Black listing, the titles alone do not explain how the two differ. Open both pages and compare the front and back photos: look at the number style, the trim on the sleeves and collar, and any marks on the chest. Pick the one whose details you prefer, since the name and number are the same on both. If you are buying for someone who already owns a Purdue jersey, matching the edition word to theirs is the simplest way to get a consistent look.
What the descriptions say
The Purdue product descriptions are general copy about personalizing a Boilermakers jersey for game day. They do not list fabric or stitching details, so look at the photos and size options on each page for specifics. Sizes run S to 3XL for Men, Women and Youth.
The basketball half of the category
About 65 listings are basketball, in several styles: College Basketball Jerseys in Gold, White, Black, Golden and 2022 versions, Rick Mount Throwback (with name and no name), 2024 NCAA March Madness Final Four and NIL Lightweight. Names include Zach Edey #15, Braden Smith #3, Fletcher Loyer #2, Lance Jones #55, Trey Kaufman Renn #4, Mason Gillis #0, Brandon Newman #5 and Glenn Robinson #13. These titles all say Basketball, so they are simple to separate from the football editions.
Choose the edition word first, gold, black or Game Black, then the name. The full Purdue jersey list shows every edition and custom together.
